The Art Of Minimalism

Minimalism is intentionally living with only the things you really need—those items that support your purpose and add value to your life. This is a path taken to remove the distraction of excess possessions so you can focus more on things that matter most.

How to be a minimalist? We bring you a small list for beginning your path to minimalism.

  1. Make a list of all the reasons you want to live more simply. Your whys will help you remember what matters.
  2. Discard the duplicates. Walk through your home with a box and fill it with duplicates. Once you fill the box, label it “Duplicates” and put it out of sight for 30 days. If you don’t need anything or don’t remember what was in the box, donate it.
  3. Declare a clutter-free zone in the house, starting with maybe a small shelf or drawer.
  4. Travel lightly: pack for ½ the time next time you travel and see the difference.
  5. Find things that you haven’t used in the past 3 months, ask yourself if you’ll need them in the coming 3 months. If it’s a no, give it away.
  6. Think about giving away (donating/selling) stuff lying around you. How do you feel? If you feel something is too precious for you to give away, then keep it. It is assured you won’t feel this way about a lot of things. Give those away!

Try these one at a time and continue to take tiny steps and lean into the life you want to live.

It makes a lot of sense. This is human tendency to keep holding things they don’t need. This article will be there with me as a reminder that I have to give away and let go of the things, in order to make space for positivity and novelity
