Our weeknight meals are synonymous with pasta. We love whipping up a quick and easy meal with yesterdays leftover veggies and pasta is always a win win within a busy household. When we want something easy, and comforting nothing beats the classic Gigi Hadid Pasta recipe. 

                                            

You’ll need a handful of basic pasta ingredients, and you can get cooking. Here’s a complete list:

  • Olive oil. 
  • 1 Onion. 
  • 2 Garlic Cloves. 
  • Tomato paste. 
  • Heavy Cream.
  • Vodka (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes. 
  • Salt and pepper. 
  • Pasta.
  • Pasta cooking water. 
  • Butter. 
  • Parmesan. 
  • Fresh parsley and fresh basil.

Step 1- Make the sauce. Sweat the aromatics in hot olive oil in a large skillet, add tomato paste, and cook until it caramelizes. To that, add cream and vodka. Once the alcohol evaporates, season with chili flakes, salt, and pepper.

Step 2- Cook pasta. In a large saucepan, cook pasta according to the instructions, and save some water before draining it.

Step 3- Combine the pasta. Add butter to the sauce as it cooks, and let it simmer on medium heat. Add the cooked pasta, cooking water, and parmesan, and cook until it all combines.

Step 4- Garnish and serve. Finish the pasta with freshly chopped parsley and basil and serve hot.

Some final tips for you. 

To store. You can keep this pasta in an airtight container and store it in the fridge for 3-5 days.

To reheat. Heat the pasta in a pan with cream or water to retain the moisture and creaminess. 

Make it vegan. Substitute dairy cream with coconut cream and parmesan cheese with a dairy-free version and nutritional yeast to make it vegan. 

Add protein. Toss through some shrimp, sliced chicken breast, or even some crumbled tofu.
